Meet Lindsay Herman (pictured below), the new Site Manager who will be working for the day camps that will be opening for the autumn holiday at NATO HQ, under the guidance of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Officer.
Lindsay, as a child, spent many summers at day camps and later became a camp counselor herself at the same camps that were a big part of her childhood. Even this past year, Lindsay worked as a Monitor at the NATO day camps for the 3-5 year age group.
”My education and professional background will be utilized to organize and execute the day to day details needed to run fun and exciting activities, training our monitors in the best practices when implementing activities and ensuring we are meeting the needs of staff and children.”
With Lindsay having a bird’s-eye view of the day camps, Olivia Geerinckx will be working closer on the ground. Her experience working with young children comes from her studies as a psychomotricity therapist. As a therapist, she worked both in schools and with children needing special assistance. Not only has Olivia participated in holiday camps herself, she has also worked for the past nine years supporting them as a Monitor.
Both are bringing years of experience working with children and managing summer camps, but they are also bringing new ideas and a lot of positive energy!

Nouvelle responsable des colonies de vacances du Centre du personnel
À partir des vacances d’automne, les colonies du siège seront organisées par Mme Lindsay Herman, sous la direction du responsable des activités sociorécréatives.
Enfant, Lindsay a participé à de nombreux stages d’été qui ont beaucoup compté pour elle. Plus tard, elle a travaillé dans l’encadrement des mêmes stages. Tout récemment encore, elle a été monitrice du groupe des 3 à 5 ans à la colonie de l’OTAN.
Voici ce que Lindsay dit d’elle-même : « Grâce à ma formation et à mon parcours professionnel, je saurai concevoir des journées passionnantes pour vos enfants, veiller à leur bon déroulement, former nos moniteurs aux meilleures pratiques, et m’assurer que l’offre répond aux besoins du personnel et des enfants. »
Tandis que Lindsay supervisera l’organisation des colonies, Mme Olivia Geerinckx sera plus proche du terrain. Après des études de psychomotricienne, elle a travaillé dans des écoles ainsi qu’auprès d’enfants ayant besoin d’une aide particulière. Non seulement elle a elle-même participé à des stages mais, ces neuf dernières années, elle en a encadrés en tant que monitrice.
